SCHOOLS IN FINLAND Seamen and ship's officers are educated
in four second grade schools in Finland. Two of them are in Swedish language.
Officers (captain, engineer) are educated in vocational high schools. All second grade programs consist of 120
credit units which means 3 years of studing. Third grade education (=vocational
high schools) consists of 160 credit units. In addition, all navigation
schools have a wide supply of further education programs and several courses. Vocational schools (second grade) in Finnish language
